Farewell Artwork

In 2010, our local school, Saint Patricks, finished construction on a new entryway. This provided the school with better access and security, along with a small vestibule area.  The Principal, Ms. Bosnack, comissioned me to provide artwork for the vestibule wall, which is visible from outside of the building through the large windows. She wanted a verse and the only other requirement was to include a visual of the cross that stands outside of Saint Patrick church.

I decided to include a view of the cross as you would see it from the inside of the church through the arched windows. This was an inspiring view during Sunday worship. The watercolor was finished and hung in the early spring of 2011. A farewell from me to the school and church that had been our second home for the many years that we lived in Wadsworth, Illinois. In August, 2011 I relocated with my family to Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Sharing Inspiration

Over the past year, I have been volunteering at my daughters' school. They have a large cork board at the visitor's entrance that has been designated the scripture board. Every week a bible verse is displayed here and memorized by the children. What I do is choose one of the weekly verses to illustrate on the large board every few months. I have been very inspired by the scripture and have been enjoying the challenge of turning God's word into graphic images. It is also a great opportunity to work in a larger format than is usual for me. I have posted some of my banners below, I hope that you enjoy them.
