I created the portrait of Geneva in watercolor. This medium was perfect for the soft, backlit photo reference that I was able to pull from a video that her grandparents had sent previously. I also created a mat, during the framing process I decided that a darker color was needed to surround the soft tones of the background. I couldn't find the exact color matboard, so I used acrylic paint and watercolor paper to create a faux mat and taped it to the original white matboard. I will include a photo with the frame and custom mat.
